october has FLOWN by and before i knew it, it was october 29th and we STILL did not have cute lil' pumpkins perched outside on our front steps...what should we do?? well friends...we loaded up white lightning and headed down to the closet grocery store (only like 5 blocks away) and picked out our clearance pumpkins. i tell you what...i am going to start getting my pumpkins this late every year because they are so much cheaper and now they will not have a chance to rot! SCORE!! i love how excited the kids look in this picture below...like we had taken them to a fancy pumpkin farm when really we go to this grocery store just about every other day! : )
we loaded white lightning up with our clearance pumpkins and headed home to carve...and just as predicted kaiya wanted NO part of touching the "goop" and jackson couldn't keep his hands out of the pumpkin....
the finished product...jackson had picked the shapes that he wanted on his pumpkin...i don't know what happened to the teeth i had drawn out. he named his pumpkin "jacko"...
we then headed outside to take a picture with the pumpkins...poor "jackson the scarecrow" is looking like he has seen better days. obviously this crazy fall weather we have been having has taken its toll on the poor guy...
only two more days till trick-or-treat...oooooohhhhh aaaaaaahhhhh!!
