last friday we had a consultation with the pediatric ear doctor about the best path to take with lil' miss kaiya's poor infected ears. we all agreed that ear tubes in both ears would be the best solution. we were thinking that we would have to wait about 4-6 weeks for the surgery since this doctor is one of the best in our area. well it must have been our lucky day because they had a "rare cancellation" for Monday morning at 9:45 at the surgery center that our insurance prefers! HOT DOG!! the nurse asked me if i needed time to think about it and i replied with a quick "no thank you...book it!" so we arrived at the surgery center bright and early monday morning for surgery. kaiya was happy as can be coloring with her favorite color...purple.
the surgery went wonderful and was over so quickly! the doctor said that her hearing will be noticeably better because while doing the tubes...she noticed that kaiya had a retracted ear drum which she repaired and also a "significant amount of ear wax" UGH!! they even put a lil' mask on her baby in the hospital bed for her!
she was soooo out of it when they brought her to us and it took her about two hours to fully come to...she woke up for a minute and wanted her babies mask OFF and then fell back asleep.
she was home and playing by 11:30 am and was back to her busy day today at laura's! such a good girl and i hope that these tubes help her poor lil' ears!
